While many people may think that Brad Pitt must have spent hours in makeup, his face in the movie is actually computer generated from the neck up. Thousands of Pitt’s expressions were digitised in order to bring Benjamin Button to life. Special tracking technology then enabled the special effects team to map the digital face onto the actors body – almost like swapping faces with Brad Pitt.
