Our tip for the best special effects gong at this year’s oscars is The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. The movie’s producers even have a website where you can find out more about the science behind the film. While many people may think that Brad Pitt must have spent hours in makeup, his face in the movie is actually computer generated from the neck up. Thousands of Pitt’s expressions were digitised in order to bring Benjamin Button to life. Special tracking technology then enabled the special effects team to map the digital face onto the actors body – almost like swapping faces with Brad Pitt.
