The RDS in association with the Centre for the Advancement of Science Teaching and Learning (CASTeL) is hosting its annual science symposium for primary school teachers. On Saturday the 7th November in DCU at 09.30am
Designed to provide teachers with an opportunity to hone their skills to help teach and demonstrate the primary science curriculum there will be three workshops: ‘Light, Shadows, Colour’ (Energy and Forces); ‘It’s a CASE of Using Your Head’ (Materials) and ‘The Foibles of Plants’ (Living Things, Environmental Awareness and Care).
Throughout each workshop, the focus will be on developing teachers’ skills and confidence in the classroom and finding methods of encouraging students to develop an inquiring mind for science. A comprehensive guide with notes, lesson plans and resource management will be provided to all attendees. Please note attendance at this symposium will earn participants CPD credits towards the Certificate/Diploma in Education.
This one-day symposium is free of charge and open to all primary school teachers. However, due to demand, early booking is strongly encouraged.
