Robot Olympics coming to China in 2010

The city of Harbin is planning to host the Olympic Robot awards in 2010 according to BBC News.

The games will see the robots taking part in 16 different events. The robots will be able to compete in familiar Olympic sports such as athletics but events that are more suitable for robots, such as cleaning will also take place.

Entry to the competition will be restricted to robots resembling humans. They must possess two arms and legs. Wheels are banned.

Robots already have their own World Cup and the 2010 event will be held in June in Singapore.
