Trinity College Professor wins researcher of the year award

Prof. Luke O’Neill, a biochemist from Trinity College Dublin has won the inaugural Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) researcher of the year award (via Silicon Republic)
According to Silicon Republic Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation Conor Lenihan TD presented the award on the opening day of the annual SFI summit
In presenting O’Neill with his award, Lenihan said: “Luke O’Neill has achieved exceptional scientific research outputs in immunology, and has made a profound contribution to Ireland’s research community in the process.”
Prof. O’Neill particular area of research is the body’s immune system.
The award was presented during Science Week 2009 which celebrates the EU year of Innovation and Creativity.
