Rachel Moss , Trinity College Dublin - Writing in the early 20th century, the celebrated author James Joyce noted that the Book of Kells - an illuminated manuscript depicting the four gospels of the New Testament in Latin - was "the most purely Irish thing we have".

Trinity's School of Education, together with partner universities across Europe, has secured the first-ever Erasmus Mundus grant in applied drama and arts education in Europe. Worth almost €4.3 million, the award will fund the new international Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's programme Theatre SPACEs (Theatre in Social, Participatory Art, Community and Educational Contexts).

Author Oisín Fagan has been named by the Arts Council as UCD's Writer in Residence for 2026. Fagan, who grew up in Co. Meath, has published three books: the short story collection Hostages (2016), and the novels Nobber (2019) and Eden's Shore (2025).

Abolitionist and activist Harriet Tubman and Jamaican political leader Marcus Garvey are the subjects of two new bronze sculptures which have been installed at Trinity College Dublin's Trinity East campus.
